Even though I really WANTED to read this book, I really DIDN’T want to read this book. As a rule, I am not a fan of Christian Women’s books. I’m not a fan of Christian Women’s anything. The Christian Women’s “market” often tastes to me like watered-down coffee in an “I really need my coffee, Jesus, because I’m about to jump off this boat to see if that’s You on the waves” kind of life. And so even though I ordered the book… I didn’t really want to dive in. Look, Paul said there is neither male nor female, Jew nor Greek… if a book is good enough for my husband, a book is good enough for me.
This book is good enough for my husband.
In fact, I am reading this book aloud so my husband and I can go through it together. We’ve found ourselves laughing, crying, stopping to mull over certain stories or ideas, talking about how it relates to other books we’ve read to grow our faith, and eager to continue. There is nothing diluted about this cup of joe.
Christians who’ve walked the walk for a lifetime will find this book an encouragement and a challenge to really evaluate their lives and the things that hinder their walk with Christ. And there are so many things that hinder us.

So is this a Christian Women’s book? I don’t think so. Fellas, you can read it, too – and you’ll be just as challenged and encouraged in your faith. But I think maybe I just figured out the point…
The message is true for all of us as Believers. But Jess’s heart is to serve this group of Believers, because she sees how greatly the struggles of womanhood devour us and keep us from our purpose as His disciples.
The book, then… isn’t a Christian Women’s book, per se.
It is FOR Christian Women: Jessica’s gift to a group of Believers who are clearly struggling to see themselves in the purposes God has for them.
But whoever you are – (male or female, Jew or Gentile, slave or free, as Paul said) – take a chance on this book. Let God’s Spirit challenge you to a closer walk, deeper faith, and pure trust in His faithfulness.
